Percutaneous Drainage for Aortic Graft Infection Post-aneurysm Repair: A Viable Option?

نویسندگان

چکیده

Retrospective, single-center review between January 2010 and July 2020. Twelve consecutive patients underwent percutaneous drain insertion in either an infected aortic sac or periaortic abscess cavity after endovascular (n = 6) open surgical graft repair. Five had drains placed as a bridge until definitive explantation reconstruction, seven were managed with placement antibiotic therapy alone. aneurysm repair two repairs treated without explanation. Median duration of was approximately 2 months. Six (50%) alive at median follow-up years, three died (erosion reconstruction into the sigmoid colon, unrelated lung disease, Clostridium difficile colitis pneumonia) during 3 lost to follow-up. Percutaneous drainage infection is safe viable management option temporizing measure nonsurgical for long-term management.

A modified multiple branched graft for thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repair

BACKGROUND To reduce some problems of traditional graft, we devise a modified multiple branched graft for repair of Crawford extent II and III thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA). CASE PRESENTATION We described a modified multiple branched graft for Crawford extent II and III thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair in 8 patients, Which comprised a main graft and three branches, and...

Percutaneous repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm.

OBJECTIVE Percutaneous treatment of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is feasible, but is associated with a unique set of risks. A comparison of Excluder endograft deployment with femoral artery cutdown (FAC) versus percutaneous femoral access (PFA) for treatment of infrarenal AAA was undertaken. METHODS A single-institution, controlled, retrospective review was carried out in patients who u...

Successful treatment using percutaneous drainage for aortic arch prosthetic graft infection

Prosthetic graft infection in the ascending aorta or aortic arch is a life-threatening complication. Redo graft replacement is also associated with high mortality and morbidity rates. Conservative treatments without graft removal recently developed as alternatives to conventional surgical approach have been reportedwith successful outcomes. We report a case of successful treatment of prosthetic ...

Thoracic EndoVascular Stent Graft Repair for Aortic Aneurysm

BACKGROUND The number of cases employing thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has been increasing due to lower morbidity and mortality compared to open repair technique. The aim of this study is to evaluate the outcome of TEVAR for thoracic aortic diseases. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixteen patients underwent TEVAR from October 2003 to April 2010. Mean age at operation was 59 years (20~78 ...

Importance of stent-graft design for aortic arch aneurysm repair

Aneurysm of the aorta is currently treated by open surgical repair or endovascular repair. However, when the aneurysm occurs in regions between the aortic arch and proximal descending aorta, it can be a complex pathology to treat due to its intricate geometry. When complex aortic aneurysms are treated with the conventional procedures, some of the patients present with significant post-operative...
